Hailed as an industry icon for its ground-breaking styling and legendary performance, Peterbilt’s Model 379 is nearing the end of its twenty-year run. The final 1,000 units produced will be commemorated with a special Legacy Class Edition, Peterbilt Motors Company recently announced.
Few products in the history of the industry have achieved the level of fame as the Model 379. As Peterbilt introduces the new lineup of traditionally styled vehicles – which integrate key elements of their predecessors while offering new levels of performance, fuel efficiency and operator amenities – they are marking the end of the Model 379 with a special edition to mark its place in history.
The Model 379 Legacy Class Edition features:
- Multiple unique exterior Legacy Class Edition emblems on the grille and both sides of the cab.
- A custom dash plate inscribed with the production number of the vehicle, from one to 1,000.
- A polished aluminum hood centerline.
- Premium UltraRide seats embroidered with the Legacy Class Edition emblem.
- The Platinum Oval Package which includes a punched oval-pattern grille and air cleaner intake screen, polished grille bars and stainless steel sun visor.
- The premium Platinum level interior.
- ConcertClass sound system with Sirius satellite radio.
- And the Peterbilt in-dash GPS Navigation System.
The Legacy Class Edition is limited to the extended-hood, 127-inch BBC configuration. It is available as a day cab or with the full range of Unibilt® sleepers. It is available for order now from Peterbilt Wisconsin & Illinois and can be configured to customer specifications regarding drivetrain, axles, suspensions and other components.
