| Before there was JX Enterprises, Inc., there was Peterbilt of Wisconsin. Chuck Jorgensen, founder of JX Enterprises, Inc., always had an interest in trucks. It is an interest that dates back to when his father operated a farm equipment and truck dealership. As a young man, Chuck earned an engineering degree, but before long he returned to the business he had grown up with. In 1960, he began selling truck equipment in the Milwaukee area, and discovered he enjoyed it a great deal. He liked being able to spec the right equipment for a customer. Soon, a longtime hobby became a lifelong career. |
Chuck Jorgensen, Founder |
Waukesha Dealership in 1972 |
For a while, young Chuck was a part owner of an International Harvester dealership. Later he bought into Waukesha Truck Sales, which at the time was located a little west of the current branch in Waukesha, WI. By the early 1970's, Chuck was ready to launch his own dealership. He wanted to sell quality trucks that could be spec'd to meet customer requirements. In 1972 that dream took form. He purchased the Waukesha facility, and Peterbilt of Wisconsin, |
| Inc., was founded as a full service dealership for Peterbilt sales, service and parts. The young company had five employees and an unwavering dedication to customer satisfaction. They took pride in matching the proper specifications with a customer's needs. When their customers took delivery, they liked knowing that they were providing the customer with a first class truck that would serve them well over the long haul. Their emphasis on quality and customer satisfaction earned Peterbilt of Wisconsin an enviable reputation and produced phenominal growth in the coming years. Since January 2000 the company has successfully transitioned to the 2nd generation, brothers Eric & Kurt Jorgensen, with Eric as President & CEO and Kurt as General Manager of the Wadsworth, IL location. |
